The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) approved three multitracking projects of the Railway Ministry with a total cost of ₹23,437 crore. These projects will be implemented in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, increasing the existing railway network by about 901 km.
The projects that include Nagda–Mathura 3rd and 4th Line, Guntakal–Wadi 3rd and 4th Line as well as Burhwal–Sitapur 3rd and 4th Line will be completed up to 2030-31.
