The Kudumbashree State-level Buds Arts Festival “Thillana-2026” will begin on Friday. The two-day festival is organised for students with intellectual challenges from Buds institutions across the State. More than 600 students will compete in various events.

Revenue Minister K. Rajan will inaugurate the festival on the Kerala Agricultural University campus, Vellanikkara. Xavier Chittilappilly, MLA, will preside over the function. Kudumbashree Executive Director H. Dinesan will present the project overview.

Competitions will be held across four venues at the university campus — Nila (Stage 1), Kabani (Stage 2), Bhavani (Library Hall – Stage 3) and Periyar (Open Stage – Stage 4).

Individual events include light music, folk song, folk dance, mimicry, fancy dress, instrumental music (chenda, keyboard), crayon painting, pencil drawing, paper craft and embossing. Group events include group dance and band performance. Folk dance competitions will be held in junior and senior categories for both boys and girls. This is the seventh State Buds Arts Festival organised by Kudumbashree.
