Government Whips Aadi Srinivas and Beerla Ilaiah have slammed the Bharat Rashtra Samithi‘s “Congress Debt (Baaki) Card” movement, terming it a fake campaign aimed at gaining political mileage during the upcoming local body elections.
Stating that they can also launch such campaigns on the BRS failures and cheating during their regime, the Congress MLAs suggested that the BRS leaders reflect on its failures first.
On Saturday, the BRS launched a State-wide campaign titled the “Congress Dues Card” to expose what it called the long list of broken promises of the Congress government in Telangana.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Aadi Srinivas said, “Since the BRS is unable to deal with the internal political turmoil created by K. Kavitha and is not in a position to answer her questions, it is resorting to these theatrics.”
“While it was in power, it miserably failed to fulfil the aspirations of people. Moreover, they pushed the State into a debt trap by borrowing ₹8 lakh crore,” Srinivas said, adding that K. Chandrashekhar Rao government deceived people by not implementing its promises, including making a Dalit Chief Minister.
He also accused the BRS leaders of looting the State in the name of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
“As they fear losing their deposit in the local body elections, they are coming up with this new drama,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Beerla Ilaiah said that Mr. K.T. Rama Rao had started a new drama in the name of the Congress Debt Card, which is indeed aimed at spreading a malicious campaign targeting the Congress government. “Despite financial challenges due to the damage done by the BRS government, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is going ahead with the implementation of six guarantees,” he said.
