Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) cadre celebrated the 72nd birthday of party president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao with enthusiasm across the State on Tuesday. At the main celebration held at party state headquarters in Hyderabad, BRS working president and MLA K.T. Rama Rao, and senior MLA T. Harish Rao participated.
To mark the occasion, a 72-kg cake was cut, and cultural performances, songs on the Telangana movement, and a documentary showcasing initiatives undertaken during the former chief minister’s 10-year rule were screened at Telangana Bhavan.
On the occasion, the leaders recalled the prolonged struggle led by Mr.Chandrasekhar Rao, stating that his strategies and sacrifices had led to the creation of Telangana as a separate State. Other leaders, including former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, alleged that while the previous BRS government led by him introduced numerous welfare schemes, the present Congress regime had become known for new forms of atrocities and intimidation against those opposing its policies.
Mr. Yadav cautioned that political power is never permanent, asserting that any government that misuses authority or harasses people will face consequences from the public.
Revanth conveys wishes
Meanwhile, leaders from across the political spectrum also extended birthday greetings to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed their wishes on X.
