Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of conspiring to secure Congress’s victory in the Jubilee Hills bypoll through dubious means, such as distributing massive amounts of black money allegedly extorted from builders under the guise of ‘HYDRAA’ demolitions.

Addressing the Rahmath Nagar division workers’ meeting of Jubilee Hills constituency at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Mr. Rao said people are disillusioned with the Congress, which has failed to fulfill its promises and is shifting the blame on to debts due to its own inefficiency.

Accusing the government of using HYDRAA solely to target the houses of the poor, Rao questioned whether HYDRAA would dare to demolish the alleged ‘illegal house’ built by Mr. Revanth Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, in Durgam Cheruvu.

Mr. Rama Rao urged minorities to recognise the reality that Mr. Revanth Reddy is acting like a BJP Chief Minister, treating Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his elder brother. He also accused the Congress of deceiving minorities by failing to nominate an MLC and cancelling schemes meant for minority welfare.

Recalling late MLA Maganti Gopinath’ services, Mr. Rama Rao urged the people of Jubilee Hills to stand by Gopinath’s family.

Mr. Rama Rao directed workers to reach every household by the 14th of this month, reminding voters of Gopinath’s services and achievements. He instructed that missing or unlisted BRS supporters’ votes must be tracked and registered immediately.

Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Rahmath Nagar incharge Takkallapalli Ravinder Rao, former minister Gangula Kamalakar, former MLAs Vinay Bhaskar, P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Korukanti Chander, late Maganti Gopinath’s wife Maganti Sunitha and other key leaders attended the meeting.
