A British Airways flight bound for Hyderabad was forced to return to London Heathrow on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) after a technical issue was detected mid-air.

The Boeing 777-236 aircraft, operating as flight BA277, departed from Heathrow at 3.10 a.m. local time and was scheduled to land at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 5.20 a.m. local time on Thursday, September 11. However, shortly after take-off, the aircraft encountered a technical problem that necessitated its return to the departure airport.

According to flight tracking website FlightRadar24, the plane was observed circling in the airspace to reduce fuel weight before making its way back to Heathrow. British Airways has not yet released details about the nature of the technical fault.
