Welcoming the Union Budget 2026-27, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Mysuru MP, has said the Centre’s focus on youth, animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) and emerging technologies would play a key role in realising the vision of a Developed India (Vikshit Bharat).

In a statement issued here, the MP described the Budget as development-oriented and people-centric. The proposed COSMOS planetarium and astronomy training centre in Mysuru, to be developed under the leadership of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, was among the significant highlights for the region. The project is expected to emerge as a hub for education, training, research and public outreach, while inspiring the next generation of scientists and strengthening India’s scientific capabilities in line with the Developed India 2047 vision.

He also drew attention to the Budget’s emphasis on fiscal discipline, economic balance and record public investment in infrastructure, along with targeted support for semiconductor, biopharma and electronics manufacturing. “These measures would help accelerate industrial growth beyond metropolitan centres.”

Emphasising that micro, small and medium enterprises are the backbone of the Indian economy, the MP said adequate budgetary provisions had been made to provide credit, promote technology adoption, strengthen market linkages and enhance ease of doing business.

The Budget’s proposals on strengthening logistics through dedicated freight corridors, inland waterways and high-speed rail connectivity would improve regional connectivity and create sustainable economic opportunities, the MP said.

Overall, Mr. Wadiyar said the Union Budget reflected long-term vision, youth empowerment and balanced economic development, while addressing both national priorities and regional aspirations.
