The authorities of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) will conduct an inquiry against those responsible for the reported embarrassment caused by the last-minute cancellation of the release of Sri Tirthapada Puranam, a biography of Chattampi Swamikal, published by the varsity, after it was found that only four volumes were printed, while the other bound volumes kept in a box were blank.

The release of the book was included among the programmes held on the occasion of the Samadhi celebrations of Chattampi Swamikal at Panmana ashram on April 19, 2026. Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Ciza Thomas, who was invited to the event by the organisers, decided not to release it after noticing the unfinished work.

The Kerala Governor, who was supposed to release the work, had directed the V-C to submit a report on the mix-up and take required follow-up action. The V-C has asked the varsity’s senior publication officer to submit the documents related to the printing and release of the work.
