Panic gripped residents of Nandini Layout in the early hours of April 27 after a major fire broke out in a paying guest (PG) accommodation, forcing around 50 women residents to jump out of the building to escape the flames.

The fire reportedly began around 12.40 a.m. and is suspected to have originated due to an electrical short circuit at a nearby LED signage warehouse. The warehouse, which is used to store banners and LED screens, caught fire first. The flames spread rapidly to the adjacent four-storey building, which houses a PG accommodation.
