Bihar Assembly polls: CPI(M) issues manifesto, accuses NDA of running a ‘negative campaign’

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Saturday (November 1, 2025) released its manifesto and accused the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar of a “negative campaign” while slamming Opposition leaders out of “desperation”.

“The NDA has been running a negative campaign while pointing fingers at the Opposition leaders, which is perhaps inevitable for them since they have nothing to showcase by way of achievements of the last two decades during which they have been in power in the State,” claimed senior CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat on issuing the manifesto.

On the NDA continuously harping on lawlessness that prevailed in the State during the previous regime and its possible return if the RJD-led alliance comes to power now, Ms. Karat asserted, “Lawlessness is not something that Opposition INDIA bloc is going to bring to the State.”

Referring to the recent day-light murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav in Mokama on October 30, the CPI(M) leader said: “The very incident is proof enough that mafia raj and jungle raj prevail in Bihar under NDA regime”.

Ms. Karat also expressed wonder over Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma calling Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi an “agent of Pakistan”. “It’s appalling that BJP leaders are speaking whatever they wish to, without taking a pause to reflect on what they say,” she wondered while adding that “such things to say about someone whose family has been in public life for so long is simply appalling”.

“Our manifesto is in line with Opposition INDIA bloc’s commitment of ensuring employment generation in the State from where people are forced to migrate (distress migration) in search of their livelihood to places like Gujarat where they are even denied the minimum daily wage fixed by the government,” the CPI(M) leader charged.

On the occasion, other CPI(M) leaders said that “Bihar can be taken on the path of development following the Kerala government’s inclusive welfare programmes for people, workers and farmers”.

The CPI(M) is contesting in four Assembly seats in Bihar this time. In the 2020 Assembly polls, it had contested on four seats as well winning two of them.
