Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has pitched the State as one of India’s most attractive investment destinations, highlighting its robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, uninterrupted power supply and investor-friendly policies while inviting global investors and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to participate in its growth story.
Addressing a ‘Meet and Greet programme’ organised by the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, Mr. Vikramarka interacted with members of the Telugu diaspora, industrialists, technology leaders and professionals from the Bay Area. He said the Telangana government was committed to creating a conducive ecosystem for investments across sectors such as manufacturing, information technology, life sciences, clean energy and advanced industries.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the State was ensuring the availability of industrial land through dedicated corridors and industrial parks while strengthening institutions such as the Young India Skills University to develop a workforce equipped to meet the demands of emerging industries.
Highlighting Telangana’s industrial advantages, Mr. Vikramarka said the State was capable of providing industries with 24×7 quality power and was making significant progress in both conventional and renewable energy generation. He noted that the government’s single-window clearance system was helping investors secure approvals quickly, reducing delays and improving ease of doing business.
Referring to the proposed Future City project, he said it was being designed with cutting-edge technology, world-class infrastructure and sustainable urban planning. The project is expected to serve as a major hub for investments and global companies. Telangana is focusing on sectors including IT, pharmaceuticals, green energy, advanced manufacturing and knowledge-based industries as part of its ambition to build a $3 trillion economy, he said.
Calling on the Telangana diaspora to play a greater role in the state’s development, Mr. Vikramarka urged them to contribute through investments, technology partnerships and industrial expansion.
During his visit to San Francisco, he also travelled in a Waymo autonomous vehicle and later held discussions with company representatives on self-driving technology. The talks explored the feasibility of piloting autonomous mobility solutions in Hyderabad and the proposed Future City, including requirements related to mapping, road infrastructure, data connectivity, AI computing systems and regulatory frameworks.
He said Telangana was keen to examine how next-generation mobility technologies could be integrated into future urban development plans and position the state at the forefront of emerging transportation solutions.
