The seventh annual edition of Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan (BVS 2025) came to a grand close at the National Sanskrit University (NSU) campus, here on Monday.
NSU Vice-Chancellor G.S.R. Krishnamurthy said the four-day event focussed on ensuring a knowledge renaissance by taking forward the ancient Indian scientific knowledge passed on through generations. He recalled that scientific literature was available in the ancient Sanskrit language, in the form of thousands of books at the university.
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT-T) Director K.N. Satyanarayana hailed Vijnana Bharati for successfully conducting the event through meticulous planning and by coordinating with several national research agencies and governmental departments.
The event saw the participation of scientific luminaries from across the globe, some in the virtual mode, to deliberate on contemporary topics.
An academic K. Ramasubramanian from IIT-Bombay, who earlier spoke on ‘Indian Knowledge Systems and Sustainability Growth’, called a strong administration with priority to ethical values as an essential prerequisite to take scientific knowledge forward.
Vijnana Bharati national organising secretary Shivkumar Sharma, general secretary Vivekanand Pai and the event’s general secretary Kailasa Rao were among the participants.
