Bapatla District Collector V. Vinod Kumar on Thursday (July 9, 2026) appealed to political parties to coordinate with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls is completed in a transparent, accurate and participatory manner.

Chairing an all-party meeting at the Collectorate, he reviewed the progress of the voter verification exercise and sought cooperation from all stakeholders.

The Collector said the SIR exercise was being conducted from June 15 to July 14, during which the 2002 electoral roll was being mapped with the 2025 electoral roll.

Enumeration forms have been distributed to every voter through BLOs, and electors have been urged to fill in and return the forms.

He cautioned that voters who fail to submit the forms would not find a place in the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on July 21. Such voters would subsequently have to apply for fresh enrolment through Form-6 with the required supporting documents.

Mr. Vinod Kumar said 71.56 per cent of the digitisation and mapping process has been completed in the district, while expressing concern over the large number of uncollected and unreturned enumeration forms.

He instructed officials to complete the exercise with transparency and appealed to the political party representatives to work alongside BLOs at the grassroots level to ensure no eligible voter is left out.

Representatives of various political parties requested the Collector to extend the SIR exercise by one month, stating that the remaining work could not be completed within the five days left before the July 14 deadline.

Responding to the request, the Collector advised party leaders to coordinate closely with BLOs and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in verifying cases involving deaths, migration and other changes to safeguard every eligible vote.

District Revenue Officer Gangadhar Goud, Election Superintendent Shafi and representatives of the TDP, Jana Sena, YSRCP, Congress, BJP, CPM, BSP and Aam Aadmi Party attended the meeting.
