B.K. Hariprasad, senior Congress leader and MLC, on Friday (May 8) took a jibe at BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh, terming his remarks on Tamil Nadu politics the “biggest joke of the decade”.

Mr. Santhosh had earlier posted on X: “Time will tell who will form a government in Tamil Nadu. But one thing is for sure, Congress will end up with egg on its face.”

Reacting to the post, Mr. Hariprasad said on X: “BJP’s @blsanthosh lecturing on Tamil Nadu politics is the biggest joke of the decade.”

He said the BJP is politically insignificant in Tamil Nadu and “not even a serious player worth mentioning in the State’s electoral landscape”.

He further alleged that Tamil Nadu had repeatedly rejected “communal politics, Hindi imposition, and the BJP’s divide-and-rule agenda”.

“The people of Tamil Nadu will decide their future — not Delhi’s propaganda machinery. And remember, alliances are built on people’s trust, not ED raids, governors, horse-trading and backdoor politics,” the Congress MLC said.
