At least seven injured as Odisha bus overturns near Salur in Andhra Pradesh

A bus coming from Nabarangpur of Odisha overturned near Salur of Parvatipuram-Manyam district in Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Sunday (February 15, 2026). As many as seven passengers out of the 31 occupants of the bus received multiple injuries in the incident. All of them were admitted to the Salur government hospital. Salur town Circle Inspector Appala Naidu and others visited the spot and initiated measures to clear the traffic on the route.

According to the police, the bus is being operated between Nabarangapur to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. A majority of the passengers are construction workers.

Meanwhile, Vizinaagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy took steps for the safe return of the pilgrims, of Kondavelagada of Vizianagaram district, when their bus met with an accident near Balasore of Odisha. According to a press release from the Collector’s office, the bus in which the they were travelling met with an accident in Odisha, two days ago. Due to collision with another vehicle, the front portion of the bus was completely crushed. The driver died and four pilgrims of Vizianagaram sustained serious injuries in the accident. Mr. Ramsundar Reddy spoke to officials in Odisha and made arrangements for the pilgrims to return their native place in another bus. The pilgrims had planned to visit temples of Odisha, Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
