Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Thursday (January 22, 2026) offered assistance to the election management bodies of countries attending an international conference here to help them develop a digital tool similar to the ECINet.
The ECINet app is a unified digital platform aimed at enhancing voter services and providing election-related information. Mr. Kumar said such a digital interface, customised to the local language, could be useful to other countries too.
On the second day of the International Conference on Democracy and Election Management, Mr. Kumar noted that the heads of various poll management bodies had shared their concerns during the conference on the threat of misinformation to democracy. He described ECINet as a tool to counter misinformation, as poll-related facts are available on it.

The updated ECINet will integrate over 40 of its existing mobile and web applications and provide a single platform for all electoral-related activities. It aims to reduce the burden on users from navigating multiple apps and remembering different login information.
Users can access electoral data on their desktops or smartphones. To ensure that data is as accurate as possible, any input on the platform is entered solely by authorised officials of the Election Commission. In case of any conflict, the primary data as duly filled in statutory forms will prevail.
The ECINET will subsume existing apps like the Voter Helpline App, Voter Turnout App, cVIGIL, Suvidha and Saksham, which together have clocked over 5.5 crore downloads.
