A labourer at Aralam farm in Kannur survived a close encounter with a wild elephant on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) morning after the animal charged at his two-wheeler near Block 1. The worker, identified as Sinesh of Parakandam, Kakkayangad, escaped unhurt.

The incident occurred around 6.15 a.m. on Tuesday when Sinesh was travelling to his workplace in Block 5. He stopped his bike after spotting the elephant crossing the road and waited until it moved into the forest. Moments later, the elephant suddenly turned and charged at him. In the footage captured by Sinesh, he is heard shouting at the animal as it rushes towards his bike. He accelerated his motorcycle and managed to escape.

No other workers were present at the spot, which officials say helped avoid a more serious incident. This is the second time in two years that Sinesh has faced an elephant attack inside the farm. The earlier incident took place in Block 5, where he fled on foot after abandoning his bike on a dirt track.

Forest officials are monitoring elephant movements in the area following the latest incident.
