The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department has been honoured with the Global Tourism Award 2025 for its remarkable initiatives to establish the State as one of India’s most promising tourist destinations.

Tourism consultant Nishitha Goyal received the award on behalf of the department at a function held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

According to the Global News Network, which instituted the award, Andhra Pradesh Tourism was recognised for its visionary leadership in framing a new tourism policy, guiding investors in destination development, building an eco-friendly capital city, and strengthening the State’s economy. The department was also hailed for its role in India’s overall tourism growth and success in attracting large-scale investments.

The award also recognised the department’s efforts in positioning Gandikota as a leading eco and adventure destination, creating supporting infrastructure and hospitality facilities, generating employment, and mobilising private sector participation through the PPP model. Over the past 15 months, the department signed 103 MoUs with reputed organisations, a milestone that contributed to its achievement.
