Andhra Pradesh Ministers express grief over Karnataka road tragedy

Andhra Pradesh Ministers on Thursday (December 25, 2025) expressed deep shock and sorrow over a horrific road accident near the Karnataka–Andhra Pradesh border that claimed at least 11 lives.

A.P. Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu said the incident was extremely distressing, particularly reports stating that so many people were burnt alive after a bus caught fire following the accident. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and said the news of the tragedy was heartbreaking. The Minister also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the mishap.

A.P. Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav also expressed anguish over the accident and described the incident as “shocking”. Referring to reports that passengers were burnt alive when flames engulfed the bus, he said the loss of lives was deeply painful.

The Health Minister directed Anantapur district officials to remain alert and ensure that hospitals near the interstate border were fully prepared to extend all necessary medical assistance to the injured. He instructed health staff to coordinate with their Karnataka counterparts to provide timely treatment and emergency care to victims requiring support on the Andhra Pradesh side.

Both Ministers reiterated the government’s solidarity with the affected families and assured that all possible help would be extended to those impacted by the tragic accident.
