Telangana Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday (August 13, 2026) urged Union Government to allocate 11,56,915 houses to the State in a single tranche under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G 2.0).

He submitted a representation regarding this to the Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi and invited him to visit the State.

The Housing Minister said that a transparent door-to-door survey was conducted across the State through the ‘Awaas Plus–2024’ application. More than 11.56 lakh rural poor families were identified as eligible for housing assistance during the survey, as per a press release.

Although the super-check and the process of removing ineligible beneficiaries were completed a year ago, the announcement of targets by the Union Government has been delayed, he said.
