Alappuzha recorded a voter turnout of about 73.76% in the local body polls held on Tuesday.
The polling was peaceful and largely incident-free, barring minor technical snags in electronic voting machines (EVMs) that were resolved without delay. The total polling percentage in the Alappuzha district panchayat was around 73.49%. Among the municipalities, Cherthala recorded the highest turnout of about 80.97%. Mavelikara had the lowest polling percentage of 64.89.

Thykkattussery recorded the highest turnout of of 82.3% among the block panchayats. Chengannur recorded the lowest polling of 67.59%, as per official estimates available around 7 p.m. Signs of a brisk polling were evident as long queues were visible from the initial hours itself. The total polling percentage was about 34.21% by noon. It went up to about 63.11% by 4 p.m.
The total voter turnout in municipalities: Alappuzha 65.99%, Haripad 71.39%, Kayamkulam 72.33%, Mavelikkara 64.89%, Chengannur 65.59%, and Cherthala (80.97%).
