A week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Integrating AI & Telemonitoring: Innovations in Smart Healthcare’ began in BLDE PG Halkatti College of Engineering in Vijayapura on February 2.
It was sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) .
Vijayakumar Jangamashetty, Google Cloud Architect, Pune, was the chief guest. Principal Manjunath P., Vice-Principals Leena Ragha and P. V. Malaji addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of these programmes.
Engineering and polytechnic faculty from various colleges of Vijayapura, Solapur, Belagavi, Hassan and Chikkodi participated in the programme.
Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication J.S. Gonal, Program Coordinator Rajinder Kumar Math, V.C. Sajjanar, M.N. Deshmukh, A.S. Yaragal and other staff members were present.
Faculty Development Programme on EV technology
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with VGST, launched a week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Hands-on Approach for Role of AI and Power Electronics in Evolution of Electric Vehicle Technology’ in Vijayapura on February 9.
This FDP aims to bridge the gap between academic research and industry requirements in the evolving EV sector. Its primary objectives are to equip faculty with practical knowledge of integrating artificial intelligence and advanced power conversion systems to enhance EV performance, optimize battery life, and improve fuel efficiency. The program aims to empower educators to train the next generation of engineers on these critical technologies.
Vishwas Dinni, Director, Sandcom Electronics Private Limited, Bengaluru, highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration, and highlighted that the FDP will enhance faculty research and teaching in advanced technologies like AI in electric vehicles.
Resource persons spoke on various topics like AI powered batteries, Power electronics for EVs, simulation using MATLAB, Simulink and Python, and Autonomous Vehicle Technologies.
