Actor Prakash Raj appeared before the Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday (November 12, 2025), for questioning in connection with the ongoing investigation into online betting and gambling applications.
The actor arrived at the CID headquarters around 3 p.m. and was questioned regarding his role in endorsing online betting and gambling apps. Officials said the summons were issued in relation to a separate case currently under investigation by the CID.
The development comes a day after actor Vijay Deverakonda was also summoned by the department in the same case. The department is recording statements of film personalities to determine the nature of their endorsements, remuneration and payment channels, the agencies or intermediaries involved among other aspects.
The inquiry follows a series of coordinated raids by the Telangana Special Investigation Team (SIT) and CID across six locations in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Punjab, which led to the arrest of eight organisers and the seizure of digital evidence.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting a parallel probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) into financial transactions and promotional campaigns allegedly linked to illegal betting networks.
