A.P. CM Naidu inaugurates a slew of projects as Sankranti festival begins in his hometown

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had a busy schedule at his ancestral village of Naravaripalle near Tirupati on Tuesday.

Though the Nara family came to their native village to celebrate Sankranti, Tuesday, however, saw the Chief Minister taking part in a slew of inaugurations of new projects and facilities.

Mr. Naidu took part in the Sankranti festivities too, along with his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, his son and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani among others.

After declaring the food basket programme open, Mr. Naidu launched millet tiffins and inspected the stalls selling snacks made of cereals grown through natural farming methods.

The family members interacted with the villagers and conveyed Sankranti greetings to the general public. They watched the ‘Rangolis’ painted all over the village and appreciated the womenfolk.

Mr. Naidu’s grandson and Mr. Lokesh’s son Nara Devansh joined the children from the neighbourhood and participated in the sports and games events, including sack race, lemon and spoon, musical chairs.

Later, the Chief Minister distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions organised as part of the Sankranti celebrations.

Mr. Naidu participated in the ground-breaking ceremony of a ₹126.06 crore project that envisages bringing water from the Handri-Neeva branch canal to Kalyani dam and filling of Mulapalle, Kantimadugu, Venkatrayuni Cheruvu and Nagapatla tanks.

Mr. Naidu also inaugurated a road laid at a cost of ₹77 lakh, connecting Seshachala Lingeswara Swamy temple with A. Rangampeta – Bhimavaram main road.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a skill development centre built at a cost of ₹1.4 crore, a 33/11 kv semi-indoor substation worth ₹4.27 crore, the Community Health Centre at Naravaripalle, which has been upgraded from 30 beds to 50 beds, amenities complex built for patient attendants at SVR Ruia Government General Hospital at a cost of ₹45 lakh. He announced to extend the Sanjeevani project, a public health initiative, to Chittoor district.

MLAs Pulivarthi Nani (Chandragiri), Arani Srinivasulu (Tirupati), Kalikiri Muralimohan (Puthalapattu), TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, and Collector S. Venkateswar were among those present during the programmes.

The Chief Minister conveyed his ‘Bhogi’ greetings to the public.
