Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday (October 18, 2025) met Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani at Periyar Thidal and handed over a cheque for ₹1,70,20,000 — which is one month’s salary of DMK MLAs and MPs — as a contribution towards the establishment of Periyar Ulagam, a theme park based on Periyar’s ideas, at Siruganur in Tiruchi.

In a post on X, Mr. Stalin said Periyar Ulagam is an effort to spread the teachings of Periyar, who tirelessly worked for Tamil society to attain rationalism and self-respect. “In the radiant light of Periyar, the great flame, the Tamil race will walk with their heads held high!,” he said.
