Dravidian ideologue and public speaker Nanjil Sampath on Friday joined actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
He met Mr. Vijay at his residence and formally joined the party. Mr. Sampath told journalists he was not associated with any political party for the past six years and joining the TVK had given a fresh lease of life to his political career.
Mr. Sampath, who started his political career in the DMK, eventually became a close associate of MDMK general secretary Vaiko. He left the MDMK to join the AIADMK in 2012. After the demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Mr. Sampath was associated with the T.T.V. Dhinakaran-led faction for a brief period.
