Luxury train Golden Chariot has arrived in Kochi carrying ten international tourists. The tourists from the United States, Mexico, and England are on a six-day trip in the train starting from Bengaluru. The tourists explored Fort Kochi and Mattanchery areas on Tuesday and will move to Alappuzha on Wednesday.

The luxuriously designed train features two restuarants, a bar, spa, and gym, among others. “The per day charge is close to ₹1 lakh. Most of the travellers are above 60 years of age and have travelled to India solely for this trip,” said Anish Jose, tour director of Golden Chariot.

The tourists explore their destination during the day while the train makes its journey to the next destination at night. The train, run by the IRCTC, is owned by the Karnataka government. “Travellers prefer this train journey as they get to visit three States in six days. It is inclusive of food, accommodation, travel, beverages, and a tour of the destination,” he added.
