A section of lawyers staged a road roko outside the Madras High Court campus in Chennai on Monday demanding action against Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) cadres for having allegedly assaulted and damaged the scooter of an advocate who had picked up a quarrel with the party leader and Member of Parliament Thol Thirumavalavan on October 7, 2025.

Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (BCTNP) co-chairman K. Balu too issued a statement alleging the advocate Rajiv Gandhi was chased by the VCK cadres and assaulted inside the BCTNP premises. He insisted CCTV footage must be secured and the general body of the Bar Council must initiate appropriate action against those responsible for the attack.
