A 52-year-old woman from Guruvayur suffered serious injuries after a stray dog bit off a part of her left ear on Friday evening.
Waheeda of Kunnath, Thaikkad ,was clearing the bushes in front of her house when the dog attacked her from behind around 5.30 p.m. Her family members and neighbours came to her rescue after hearing her cries.
She was rushed to the Government Taluk Hospital in Chavakad. The hospital authorities said that she has been shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Thrissur, after administering initial care.
Her condition remains stable. The local residents pointed out that the stray dog menace had turned worse in the region in recent times.
