Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav on Wednesday said that the Super GST-Super Savings regime would remarkably reduce the tax burden on households and make essential goods more affordable.

The Minister was conducting inspections at Shri Shirdi Sai Super Market on Guntakal Road in Uravakonda town to check the implementation of the GST 2.0.. Interacting with consumers, the Minister ensured that GST reductions were reflected in the retail prices.

Later, addressing an awareness camp on GST, Mr. Keshav said the NDA government at the Centre and State had rationalised GST slabs from 28%, 18%, 12%, and 5% to just two slabs, significantly easing the financial burden on families.

Mr. Keshav said that the new regime would allow households to save substantially every year. He said that the benefits extended from everyday items such as soaps and pastes to higher-value products like ACs and refrigerators, making luxury goods accessible to the middle-class and the poor.

The Minister urged the officials to extensively undertake awareness campaigns on GST 2.0 across villages and towns to ensure that the information on its benefits reached every household. Senior officials of the Commercial Taxes took part in the event.
