Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner and Additional Election Authority K. Mayur Ashok has initiated action against two APCOS employees for allegedly violating the election Model Code of Conduct by participating in election campaigning.

The employees have been identified as Manda Kishore Babu, a worker employed through APCOS in the malaria department of the GMC, and Shaik Ghouse Peera, an APCOS security guard working in the corporation.

According to the Commissioner, both employees allegedly participated in election campaigning in violation of the rules applicable to government and municipal personnel during the election process.

Mr. Mayur Ashok said that letters had been sent to the Guntur District Collector and the Managing Director of APCOS on Friday, recommending the removal of the two employees from their jobs over their alleged involvement in election campaigning.

The Commissioner cautioned employees against participating in election campaigns under any circumstances while the election process was underway. He warned that strict action would be taken against those violating the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines.

He emphasised that employees must adhere to the prescribed rules and maintain the conduct expected of them during elections.
