Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid tributes to the mortal remains of Amsaveni, the mother of DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant, who passed away in Chennai on Tuesday (October 7, 2025). Ministers E.V. Velu, Thangam Thennarasu and Ma. Subramanian, legislator A.M.V. Prabhakara Raja also paid their tributes.

In a separate development on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin visited PMK founder S. Ramadoss and MDMK founder Vaiko, both of whom have been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. Legislators G.K. Mani and R. Arul were present when the Deputy CM visited Mr. Ramadoss in the hospital. When Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin visited Mr. Vaiko, the latter’s son and MP Durai Vaiko was present.
