Foundation stone for Warangal’s Mamnoor airport likely in December

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu in New Delhi on September 2, 2026

The foundation stone laying ceremony for the proposed airport in Mamnoor, Warangal of Telangana, is likely to be in December. Tenders for award of the air transportation infrastructure project would be invited within two weeks, and finalized by December.

This was assured by Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with him in New Delhi on Wednesday (September 2, 2026) to request works on establishing new airports at Mamnoor and Adilabad to be expedited. 

The Union Ministry was urged to take steps to speed up works, especially at Mamnoor, as the State government has completed acquisition of land related to the airport.

MRO sought in Adilabad

The Chief Minister reiterated his request to the Union Minister to ensure facilities like cargo and passenger terminals as well as MRO (maintenance, repair, overhauling) at Adilabad airport. The Civil Aviation Ministry was requested to hold a meeting with the Defence Ministry officials over the finalisation of runway related issues at the proposed airport.

Report on sea planes landing on Hussainsagar

Mr. Reddy urged Mr. Naidu to promote heli-tourism through choppers in the State as it would help in accelerated development of the sector. Officials of the Union Ministry informed the Chief Minister that the project report pertaining to landing of sea planes on Hussainsagar lake would be submitted to the State government in two weeks.
