Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Kolanukonda Sivaji has written to Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy to bring to his attention an incident in Visakhapatnam, wherein the driver of an official associated with the Transport Department allegedly assaulted and injured a driver from another State.

Condemning the incident, which was captured on video and has gone viral on social media, the Congress leader expressed serious concern. “Such incidents bring disrepute to the Transport Department and require immediate and stringent action,” he wrote, requesting the Minister to promptly suspend the official, who is a Brake Inspector, and direct the authorities concerned to register appropriate criminal cases against the Inspector’s driver and take strict action in accordance with the law.
