The cyber police on Thursday (August 6) arrested a Beypore native as part of the continuing investigation into a defamatory Facebook post against Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan.
The accused was identified as Nithin Kakkedath. The police had already registered a case based on the allegation that the social media post was intended to provoke unrest and create disharmony among the public. The complaint, initially submitted to the District Police Chief (Kozhikode City) by a member of the Beypore Block Congress Committee, had been forwarded to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber) for immediate action.
