Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin, who once represented Bankipur Assembly constituency for five consecutive terms, hit the road on Monday (July 27, 2026) for the road show in support of the party candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha ahead of the bypoll scheduled on July 30.
The BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) organised a roadshow demonstrating their full strength. Mr. Nabin, on a specially decorated chariot found waving to the public along with Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, BJP State president Sanjay Saroagi and other leaders of the NDA.
Starting from Bhattacharya Mor, the roadshow gradually transformed into a public meeting near Mona Theatre in Patna. The entire route was adorned with BJP flags, banners, and welcome doors. BJP supporters were found lining both sides of the road to welcome the leaders with flowers.
Throughout the roadshow, Mr. Nabin and Mr. Choudhary continuously waved to the crowds and accepted the public greetings with folded hands.
Supporters shouted slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” “Jai Shri Ram”.
While addressing the public meeting, Mr. Nabin targeted both the Rashtriya Janata Dal and Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor.
“We must remember that there was a time when, after 5 p.m., our mothers and sisters could not step out of the house; that was the jungle raj of Lalu Yadav’s family. We must not allow that jungle raj to return. These people are fighting a proxy war, and some are spreading confusion. We must teach these people a lesson, and just as the double-engine government is running in Delhi and Patna, we should run a similar double-engine government in Bankipur and Bihar; this is a resolution all of you must take,”Mr. Nabin said.
Targeting Mr. Kishor, who has made his electoral debut in the Bankipur bypoll, Mr Nabin said, “I know that some people here have come to do business. But I am fully confident that the people of Bankipur are not with these businessmen and those from the jungle raj. The people of Bankipur are with development, and the trust of the people is with the NDA alliance.”
He added that many people are in the field to test their strength.
“I want to tell those people that this is my home, and breaching this home of mine is not that easy. On July 30, when the NDA’s workers and supporters step out from home to vote, I am fully confident that Neeraj Sinha’s victory is going to set a new milestone,”Mr. Nabin said.
Pointing towards the party candidate, Mr. Nabin said that he stood before people with that candidate, who is an ordinary worker of the BJP, who began his journey as a booth president and, after serving as a mandal president, is now a candidate of the BJP and NDA alliance.
During the road show, the people also reacted to the alleged NEET paper leak and the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the post of Union Education Minister following the pressure of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
Asked about the paper leak playing any role in the bypoll, Nalin Kumar, a resident of Anandpuri, said, “I am also a voter of Bankipur, and this time, I have made up my mind not to vote for BJP. BJP is ruling at the Centre, and under their regime, question papers of many competitive exams have been leaked, and many have died by suicide. Who is responsible for this? BJP. After all this, any sensitive person and educated person will not vote for BJP.”
Another spectator, Shyam Bansal and resident of Frazer Road who was part of the road show, said, “There is anger among the students and people against the BJP. It is not only about the NEET paper leak, but it is also about the future of our children, and we will vote for the right candidate who is talking about good education and the future of the children. I have come to see what these big leaders are saying.”
Toni Kumar, a resident of Daldali Road and voter of the Bankipur Assembly constituency, echoed the same, asserting that changing the candidate by the BJP was the first mistake and that fielding a weak candidate has given an opportunity to other candidates. He also added that the paper leak issue would surely be in the mind of voters before casting the vote.
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav also did a road show along with RJD candidate Rekha Kumari in Bankipur.
