Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Tuesday (March 10, 2026) commenced the process of interviewing his party’s ticket aspirants for the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election.

Mr. Vijay, who arrived at the party headquarters at Panaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai on Tuesday morning, held one-on-one interviews with ticket aspirants from various districts. A total of 55 functionaries who expressed their wish to contest the Assembly election were interviewed by Mr. Vijay on the first day, party sources said.

TVK joint general secretary C.T.R. Nirmalkumar said the party continued to receive applications from ticket aspirants and they were being scrutinised. After scrutiny and the selection of eligible persons, the party is planning to conduct interviews with them in a phased manner. After the interview process is over, Mr. Vijay will announce the candidates, he said.
