Railways urged to grant approval for MMTS halt stations at Anandbagh and Loyola College

The Suburban Train & Bus Travellers Association, Malkajgiri, has urged the Railway Board and the Ministry of Railways to grant early approval for the proposed MMTS halt stations at Anandbagh and Loyola College in the Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway (SCR).

Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member Noor Ahmed Ali said the proposal for the two stations has already been forwarded to the Railway Board and appealed for its speedy clearance so that construction work can begin without further delay.

Anandbagh and Loyola College areas are densely populated that cater to a large number of students, employees, defence personnel and daily commuters. Establishing MMTS stations at these locations would improve suburban rail connectivity, ease road traffic congestion and encourage the use of eco-friendly public transport, he said.

The Association said the proposed stations would benefit thousands of passengers every day and play a key role in strengthening Hyderabad’s suburban transport network. Highlighting the city’s growing mobility requirements, it stressed that the expansion of the MMTS network is essential and urged the Ministry of Railways to prioritize the two projects in the interest of the travelling public, according to a press release.
