There is no dearth of urea or other chemical fertilisers in the district, and those who spread rumours about the shortage will face strict action, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

Addressing the media at the Collectorate in Vijayawada on Monday (July 13, 2026), the Collector said there is adequate amount of chemical fertilisers and there is no need for farmers to worry.

The government follows a transparent fertiliser distribution system through the A.P. Agribusiness Information Management System app, and fertilisers are given to farmers based on online land records. This is to ensure that every farmer receives only the quantity required by them. Moreover, steps are being taken to ensure that not only those who own land, but also tenant farmers get the required fertilisers, Mr. Lakshmisha said.

The Collector said that the district has 17,425 metric tonnes of urea in stock at present. Since the launch of the APAIMS app on June 8, around 22,616 farmers have purchased 3,888 metric tonnes of fertilisers through the platform.

The Collector warned stringent action, including cancellation of dealership licences, against fertiliser dealers if any irregularities are found in pricing, quality, or distribution. Those who wish to file a complaint against such practices can dial the number displayed at every fertiliser retail unit, he said.

Farmers and members of the public can contact 9154970454 for information on farming practices, crop management, fertiliser distribution, technical guidance, and other agriculture-related matters. The helpline will provide technical assistance and agricultural advisory services.
