The Telangana government on Tuesday (July 8, 2026) appointed new District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) for Hanumakonda and Medchal Malkajgiri districts. The order was issued by Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu.

Appaiah, Civil Surgeon, has been posted as the DMHO of Hanumakonda and K. Anand, Civil Surgeon and Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Niloufer Hospital, has been posted as DMHO Medchal Malkajgiri.

While the order relating to Medchal Malkajgiri cited only administrative grounds for the change, the replacement of the Hanumakonda DMHO followed complaints of harassment made by staff against outgoing DMHO S. Durga Ramkumar.
