Andhra Pradesh Bar Council approves ₹3.69 crore for advocates’ welfare

The Andhra Pradesh Bar Council (APBC) Welfare Fund Committee meeting held on Friday approved financial assistance and retirement benefits totaling ₹3.69 crore.

This included a death benefit of ₹2.86 crore for 52 families of deceased advocates, medical assistance amounting to ₹74.20 lakh for 85 advocates, and retirement benefits of ₹3 lakh each for three advocates, according to a press release by APBC Chairman Nallari Dwarakanatha Reddy.

Members of the Advocates’ Welfare Committee, Muppalla Subba Rao and P. Narasinga Rao, along with representatives from the High Court and the Law Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, participated in the meeting.

Mr. Dwarakanatha Reddy also stated that the A.P. Advocate Clerks’ Welfare Fund Committee had enhanced the grants, increasing the death benefit from ₹4 lakh to ₹4.5 lakh and financial assistance from ₹80,000 to ₹1 lakh.
