A fact-finding committee, appointed by the Bharatiya Janata Party government, visited Sriganganagar in northern Rajasthan on Saturday (May 2, 2026) to probe into a clash between ruling party MLA Jaideep Bihani and some officials during a public hearing earlier this week. Mr. Bihani has been accused of assaulting an assistant engineer.
Three persons, including Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project’s (RUIDP) assistant engineer Jaganlal Bairwa, were arrested after the incident on April 30. Mr. Bihani alleged that the officials slapped him during a discussion on the drinking water issues, causing damage to his spectacles.
