Officials of the South Coast Railway (SCoR), Vijayawada division, launched ‘Punctuality BZA’ the first ever android-based mobile application designed to monitor the punctuality of trains.

Punctuality BZA integrates all critical operational information into a single, user-friendly dashboard, providing section-wise train status, Late Train Monitoring (LTM), Punctuality Assessment Module (PAM), automated notifications when a train is delayed for more than 15 minutes and other information.

The mobile-first application in Indian Railways enhances situational awareness, facilitates quicker decision making and enables prompt action for improving punctuality of trains, said Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya.

To further strengthen digital train operations, Punctuality BZA has been seamlessly integrated with LTM BZA, another in-house application designed to automate train run documentation for train managers.

“Using GPS-enabled technology, LTM BZA records train arrivals, departures, speed and movement data while generating comprehensive summaries. Whenever a detention occurs, the train managers record the reason through the application, which would be shown on the ‘Punctuality BZA’ dashboard, enabling the controllers to analyse delays in the real time,” the DRM said.

Mr. Sonakiya said the new application will reduce manual documentation, enhance passenger safety and operational preparedness.
