Congress MLA from Parigi, T. Ram Mohan Reddy, described Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao’s recent Parigi meeting as a complete failure, exposing Mr. KTR’s inability to comprehend people’s mood and aspirations.

Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) office, he said KTR’s meeting failed to attract even a modest gathering, claiming that a small function hall could not be filled. “What Mr. KTR spoke also reflected his ignorance of the development taking place,” he said.

He said the Congress government had cleared the environmental hurdles to expedite construction of the Appa Junction-Manneguda four-lane road and secured approvals for the ₹3,000-crore Navy project.

Referring to irrigation projects, Mr. Ram Mohan Reddy said the BRS had promised to provide irrigation to one lakh acres in every Assembly constituency but failed to undertake even basic works in Parigi. The previous BRS government had repeatedly promised to construct the Lakshmidevipalli Reservoir at Kondurg but failed to fulfil the assurance.

In contrast, he said, the present government had issued official orders for land acquisition for the reservoir, with ₹600 crore being allocated for acquiring land to provide irrigation to 4.13 lakh acres.

The Congress MLA questioned why the previous government had failed to establish a 100-bed hospital in Parigi despite promising super-speciality hospitals across the State. He said the Congress government was constructing a 100-bed hospital in the constituency and had also begun handing over Indiramma houses, unlike the previous regime, that did not build a single double-bedroom house in Parigi.

“The Congress government was implementing development works worth nearly ₹50,000 crore in the Parigi region under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership,” he said.
