Four killed in two road accidents in Kalaburagi

Four people were killed in two road accidents reported from different parts of Kalaburagi district on Wednesday.

In the first accident, three youths died on the spot after a KKRTC bus collided with a motorcycle on Karadal-Chittapur Road in Chittapur taluk.

The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Devaraj Ayyappa of Bommanahalli, 24-year-old Laxmikant of Mudbool and 22-year-old Prakash of Bijjanahalli in Sedam taluk.

The three were travelling together on the motorcycle when it collided with the bus.

The police said that the KKRTC bus was on its way from Chittapur towards Sannati, while the motorcycle was heading towards Bijjanahalli.

Senior police officials visited the spot.

The bodies were shifted to Chittapur Taluk Government Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered at the Chittapur Police Station.

In the other accident near Nedalgi in Jewargi taluk, a woman was killed after a motorcycle collided with a bus.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Nirmala Kallappa Sindgi of Devar Nawadagi village in Sindgi taluk of Vijayapura district.

She was travelling as a pillion rider, returning home after attending a wedding in Jewargi town, when the accident occurred near Nedalgi Cross.

Several others who suffered injuries were shifted to the District Hospital. A case has been registered at Nelogi Police Station.
