A 20-foot-long python that was found in a potato farm in Hasanur was safely captured by the Fire and Rescue Services Department personnel on Tuesday (September 23, 2025).

Sinraj, the farm owner, noticed unusual movement in his three-acre potato field in the morning. On inspection, he found the massive python slithering through the crops. He immediately informed the Hasanur fire station.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and after a long struggle, successfully caught the snake. The Forest Department personnel later took the python and released it into a dense forest area. Local residents had gathered near the farm to catch a glimpse of the snake.
