The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charge sheeted an alleged CPI(Maoist) operative for allegedly inciting a gathering to promote the activities and ideology of the banned organisation during a funeral meeting held in Telangana.

The accused, Gade Innaiah alias Gade Inna Reddy, was charge sheeted before the NIA Special Court in Nampally on Thursday (June 18) under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

According to the NIA, the chargesheet was filed in connection with its investigation into the case. The agency alleged that the accused made incriminating remarks during the funeral meeting of Katha Ramachandra Reddy, a deceased Central Committee member of the CPI (Maoist), in October 2025.

Investigators alleged that Gade Innaiah addressed a gathering of around 200 people at the funeral and encouraged them to continue promoting the ideology of the CPI (Maoist). He is also accused of criticising former members of the organisation who had surrendered before government authorities.

The NIA said the accused was arrested in December 2025. During the investigation, the agency allegedly found that he maintained close links with senior CPI (Maoist) cadres and had met them in forest areas of Chhattisgarh.

According to the agency, he was also actively involved in propagating the ideology of the banned outfit through a frontal organisation called Bharat Bachao, of which he was a co-founder.

The NIA said further investigation in the case is continuing.
