Twenty-Point Programme Implementation Committee Lanka Dinakar
A seminar on GST reforms held here on Wednesday highlighted the benefits of the Central Government’s new tax measures for citizens and the national economy.
Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Twenty-Point Programme Implementation Committee, Lanka Dinakar, speaking on “Atmanirbhar Next Generation GST Reforms,” emphasised the crucial role of GST officials, the Consumer Commission, and trade bodies in ensuring that reduced tax benefits reach the public. He noted that, from September 22, GST slabs have been simplified from four rates to just two—5% and 18%—providing significant relief to nearly 90% of Indian households. Essentials such as food, medicines, educational supplies, tractors, cement, and small vehicles are now taxed at lower rates, boosting purchasing power ahead of the festive season.
GST Joint Commissioners Prashanth and Kalpana, A.P. Chamber of Commerce Chairman Potluri Bhaskar Rao, and AP Star Hotels Owners’ Association president Swami Naidu also addressed the gathering.
