Tamil Nadu Youth Congress organised a protest march in Chennai against ‘Vote Chori’, accusing the Election Commission of India of widespread ‘voter fraud’, a charge made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently.

Hundreds marched in Chennai near Anna Salai, raising slogans against the BJP, questioning the ‘legitimacy’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term.

Speaking to the reporters, Uday Bhanu Chib, national president, Indian Youth Congress, claimed, “We are doing this march because the whole country knows that Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister because of ‘Vote Chori’. Rahul Gandhi ji has exposed the Central government. There were more than 100 voters registered in one room by the Election Commission of India whose Chairman has been appointed through the backdoor, without the consent of the Leader of Opposition and Chief Justice of India.”

He added, “The youth and people of this country won’t allow this ‘Vote Chori’. “The Constitution gives us the Right to Vote. Narendra Modi and BJP are trying to steal this right. We will not tolerate this. This is why Youth Congress is carrying out the awareness campaign.”

TNCC president K. Selvaperunthagai participated in the march. He said the party will organise a signature campaign in Saligramam. “The Vote Chori is not just an allegation. In the first election, they gave false hope and spoke about the Gujarat Model. They milked the patriotic sentiment…and in the third election, they came to power using Vote Chori. In Mahadevapura constituency in Karnataka, they have received one lakh votes in one constituency. Soon, Rahul Gandhi will expose what happened in Varanasi…and how PM Modi won,” he said.
