The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday approved floating of a Request For Proposal (RFP) to prepare a development plan for the Amaravati Economic Region spread across nine districts from Eluru to Prakasam, and the constitution of a special tribunal to resolve disputes involving buildings and unauthorised constructions in the capital region.

The other decisions taken during the APCRDA meeting include the creation of a City Gas Distribution network in PPP or joint venture models, allocation of ₹548 crore for the Andhra Pradesh High Court buildings and related infrastructure, and approval for the allotment of up to five cents of land in village settlements for plots found to be unsuitable under the Negotiable Settlement Policy.

Besides, the APCRDA approved the construction of a giant observation wheel in PPP mode for promoting tourism in Amaravati, setting up an independent fire control system for the CRDA to issue No Objection Certificates (NoCs), and the waiver of registration fees for 495 farmers whose allotment codes were changed in the LPS layouts.

The authority also resolved to cancel the agreement signed with Saudi Arabian company, Tabreed for building a District Cooling System in the capital region, and invite fresh tenders.

Mr. Naidu told the officials to develop housing complexes for lower and middle-income groups in the capital region in compliance with World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB) norms.

He suggested that every township in the capital region should be designed as a hub for livable spaces, commercial activities, and work-from-home facilities.

The meeting was attended by MA&UD Minister P. Narayana, Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad, Principal Secretary (MA&UD) S. Suresh Kumar and officials from the APCRDA and Amaravati Development Corporation.
